New Ferrari KC23 is a one-off track-only supercar

Ferrari has built another unique supercar with hints of future design

Ferrari has a lucrative line in bespoke one-offs created for its favourite customers, and the Italian marque has just revealed its latest unique creation: the KC23.

In a post online, Ferrari said the KC23 is “designed for non-competitive track use, showcasing groundbreaking aerodynamics, motorised vents and an imposing rear wing”.

The KC23 is based on the 488 GT3 Evo from 2020; that explains why the interior is stripped out, with exposed carbon fibre, various toggles and switches from the 488 GT3, plus a full roll cage and a brace of bucket seats.

The exterior changes to the KC23 from its race-car origins are far more extensive. It’s a unique body with a light bar at the front, plus new bonnet vents, wheels, digital wing mirrors and LaFerrari-inspired butterfly doors. The paint is a ‘Gold Mercury’ livery, Ferrari says, while at the rear there’s another full-width light bar, sitting on top of a vent that references the classic F40 and F50 supercars. An aggressive rear diffuser and the massive rear wing (which is removable) complete the look.

Ferrari says the KC23 is only suitable for track use, which makes sense, given that the suspension and chassis are carried over from the GT3. The twin-turbo V8 from the 488 produces up to 690bhp but it is restricted to 600bhp in race trim; it’s not clear which spec Ferrari has used in the KC23.

No price has been revealed for the KC23, but as with all of Ferrari’s special projects, it’s likely to have cost the collector/owner several million euros to commission and create in conjunction with the in-house design and engineering teams at Maranello.
